Samfoo

Samfoo membawa maksud ‘baju dan seluar’ dalam dialek Kantonis. Samfoo merupakan baju pendek yang biasanya dipadankan seluar. Biasanya, Samfoo diperbuat daripada fabrik satin dan ditenun dengan motif-motif tertentu. Walaupun Samfoo merupakan pakaian tradisional orang Cina, tetapi Samfoo jarang dipakai oleh lelaki berketurunan Cina di Malaysia.




Cheongsam


Cheongsam merupakan pakaian tradisional yang dipakai oleh kaum Cina perempuan. Cheongsam merupakan baju panjang yang selesa dan anggun. Lazimnya, Cheongsam mempunyai leher yang tinggi, butang di bahagian bahu, bentuk yang sendat di pinggang dan belahan di kiri dan kanan kain. Terdapat beberapa motif yang umum dipakai untuk Cheongsam, iaitu bunga, burung, naga dan sebagainya. Kebanyakan Cheongsam diperbuat daripada kain sutera. Terdapat juga Cheongsam yang diperbuat daripda kain satin dan jenis kain lembut.

    Selepas melihat blog ini, barulah saya tahu bahawa pakaian orang Cina kepada lelaki digelar sebagai Samfoo. Syabas! Blog ini dicipta dengan ringkas, tidak rumit, jelas dan mudah difahami.

    Actually, Cheongsam and Samfoo is the modernized costume of the Manchurians, which is QiZhuang (旗装)... Not the Chinese.... When they conquered China after the fallen of Ming Dynasty, they forced all the Chinese to wear their costumes and shave their hair. At that period, millions of Chinese were killed because they refused to follow the order. Please do some research and you will be shocked that Chinese Traditional Costume is actually Hanfu. Unless you are a descendant of the Manchurians. But still, Cheongsam is not even a traditional costume, it's a fashion that was modernized during the period of the republic of China.
